JENIN, July 29, 2026 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation military decided on Wednesday evening to extend the military orders imposing closures on the Jenin refugee camp and the Tulkarm and Nur Shams refugee camps until September 30, continuing its ongoing military offensive on the three camps.
The previous military orders had been due to expire on July 31, but Israeli authorities issued new orders on Wednesday evening extending them through the end of September.
The new military orders prohibit anyone from entering, remaining in, or leaving the designated areas within the camps without a special permit issued by the Israeli military.
The Israeli military launched its large-scale offensive on the city of Jenin and its refugee camp on January 21, 2025, later expanding the operation to include the Tulkarm and Nur Shams refugee camps. The offensive has involved repeated raids, bulldozing works, the demolitions of homes and infrastructure, and the forced displacement of tens of thousands of families.
The extension of the military orders comes as the siege on the camps continues, amid growing warnings of a worsening humanitarian situation, with citizens still barred from returning to their homes and extensive demolition and destruction continuing inside the camps.
