RAMALLAH, July 28, 2026 (WAFA) – Vice President Hussein Al-Sheikh on Tuesday received the Ambassador of the Republic of India to the State of Palestine, Mahima Sikand, in Ramallah, where the two discussed bilateral relations and the latest political and security developments.
Al-Sheikh welcomed Ambassador Sikand and reaffirmed the depth of the historic friendship between the State of Palestine and the Republic of India. He also praised India's longstanding support for the rights of the Palestinian people and their just cause.
During the meeting, Al-Sheikh reviewed the latest political and security developments, highlighting the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, particularly in the occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
He stressed the need to intensify international efforts to end the aggression, provide protection for the Palestinian people, and advance the implementation of the two-state solution in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions.
For her part, Ambassador Sikand reaffirmed India's commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations with the State of Palestine and continuing to support efforts aimed at achieving peace and stability, paving the way for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
