NABLUS, July 23, 2026 (WAFA) — Two young Palestinians were killed by Israeli occupation forces on Thursday evening in the town of Beit Furik, east of Nablus, according to Palestinian security sources.

The sources told WAFA that Israeli forces opened fire at the two men, killing them and subsequently withholding their bodies. Two other Palestinians were injured and transferred to a hospital for treatment.

Mayor of Beit Furik, Yousef Hanani, said Israeli occupation forces continue their assault on the town, having sealed all of its entrances while deploying large numbers of soldiers and Israeli colonists in the nearby plain.

Hanani said residents had gone out to extinguish fires that broke out in agricultural fields when Israeli forces and colonists attacked them and opened live fire, wounding four Palestinians. Two of the wounded were later pronounced dead, while Israeli forces withheld their bodies. Others were later injured after being physically assaulted.

He added that Israeli occupation forces forced one family to evacuate its home after assaulting the homeowner near the scene of the incident. The fires also damaged electricity network poles, while Israeli colonists set fire to two vehicles belonging to local residents.

Hanani said dozens of residents have been unable to reach their homes after Israeli occupation forces closed the Beit Furik military checkpoint at the town's main entrance. A number of employees working inside the town have also been unable to leave due to the closure.
