JERUSALEM, July 21, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli forces issued a military order to seize 5,283 dunams of land belonging to the town of Jaba', north of occupied Jerusalem, under the pretext of using it for "military purposes."
According to Military Order No. (30/26/T), the order includes a 725-meter-long plot of land in the areas of Al-Muntar, Ras Al-Marj, and Sha'ab Al-Ghazoul, and the seizure order is set to remain in effect until December 31, 2028.
The Jerusalem Governorate said that the decision comes within the context of plans to construct a settler road extending from Route 60 near the Jaba' checkpoint to the apartheid wall adjacent to the "Nabi Ya'qub" settlement, which is built on Palestinian-owned land.
It further emphasized that military seizure orders constitute a tool for imposing new facts on the ground by controlling Palestinian land and expanding the network of roads connected to settlements, thus further isolating Palestinian communities from their surrounding areas.
It affirmed that such settlement road projects go beyond Israel's stated military justifications and are linked to actual annexation plans amid at linking the settlements to occupied Jerusalem at the expense of Palestinian lands.
