BRUSSELS, July 18, 2026 (WAFA) -- The Belgian government has announced a ban on the import of products originating from Israeli colonies in the occupied Palestinian territory.
According to the Belgian News Agency (Belga), the federal government discussed imports from the occupied Palestinian territory during a cabinet meeting before deciding to prohibit products from Israeli colonies.
The agency said the meeting continued into the early hours of Saturday, with the ban approved as part of the cabinet's final decisions before the summer recess.
The Belgian decision comes after the European Union recently issued instructions to enforce its 2004 decision regarding products from Israeli colonies, which stipulates that goods produced in colonies in the occupied West Bank and the occupied Syrian Golan are not eligible for customs duty exemptions.
