RAMALLAH, Wednesday, July 1, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces closed all entrances to the town of Sinjil, north of Ramallah, early Wednesday morning.
Local sources said the forces also shut down all agricultural and secondary roads linking the town to nearby villages using military bulldozers and earth mounds, effectively isolating the town.
The move brings the total number of closed roads and entrances to six main gates and 16 secondary and agricultural routes, including iron gates and earth and stone barriers, as part of what locals describe as a policy of tightening the siege on residents.
Sinjil Municipality Head Moataz Abdul Rahman said in a press statement that the closures are exacerbating residents’ suffering and restricting the movement of patients, students, and workers, affecting all aspects of daily life.
He called on human rights and humanitarian organizations to intervene urgently to halt what he described as collective punishment imposed on the town.
Abdul Rahman added that the municipality continues to monitor developments and document violations as part of its efforts to defend residents’ rights and resilience amid escalating measures.
