France and Oman reaffirm support for two-state solution and Palestinian self-determination

RAMALLAH, June 30, 2026 (WAFA) – France and Oman have reaffirmed their support for the two-state solution and the Palestinian people's right to self-determination.

In a joint statement issued by the Oman News Agency at the conclusion of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq's visit to France, both sides stressed the necessity of establishing a sovereign, viable, and democratic Palestinian state living side-by-side with Israel in peace and security.

They also called for ensuring the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and maintaining the ceasefire.

The two sides emphasized the importance of supporting regional de-escalation, conflict prevention, combating terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and enhancing maritime security.

They reiterated their commitment to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea as the legal framework governing maritime areas, including the Strait of Hormuz and the Sea of ​​Oman.
