HEBRON, June 27, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces on Saturday evening detained a former Palestinian detainee after surrounding his home in the town of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, according to a local activist.
Media activist Mohammad Awad told WAFA that the occupation forces, disguised in civilian clothing, raided the Al-Qarna neighborhood, surrounded a house, and detained former detainee Ahmad Youssef Hassan Akhleil, 35, before taking him to an undisclosed location.
Awad said the occupation forces had been pursuing Akhleil for several months. During his detention, Israeli soldiers fired live ammunition intensively at the house while he was inside, declared the area a closed military zone, and prevented residents from approaching. More than two hours later, they detained him.
Akhleil had previously spent 11 years in Israeli occupation prisons.
