Israeli authorities to demolish 17 agricultural structures in Tayibe

TAYIBE, June 17, 2026 (WAFA) - Israeli authorities issued on Wednesday demolition and evacuation orders for 17 agricultural structures in the plain of the city of Taybeh of the Triangle area, under the pretext of unlicensed construction.

The owners of the structures slated for demolition were surprised to find notices posted on the buildings and agricultural structures, ordering their evacuation and demolition, amid growing concerns over plans targeting the plain’s lands.

The Taybeh plain area is the target of an Israeli scheme to establish a " national dry port" on approximately 2,200 dunums of land. Palestinian inhabitants say the project threatens to seize vast tracts of agricultural land in the region. The project is intended to serve the central region and Tel Aviv and includes facilities for the treatment and storage of solid construction waste.

In recent weeks, the Taybeh inhabitants have organised a series of protests against the project, including the establishment of a protest tent, stressing that the scheme targets the city’s only remaining natural open space and threatens their lands.
