Prime Minister calls eastern Barta’a Mayor to check on citizens following Israeli demolitions

Directs relevant authorities to mobilize greater international pressure to halt Israeli crimes

RAMALLAH, June 14, 2026 (WAFA) — Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa on Sunday spoke by telephone with the Mayor of Eastern Barta’a in Jenin, Ghassan Kabha, to check on the conditions of citizens following the large-scale demolition campaign carried out by Israeli occupation forces in the Khour Al-Daba’a area of the town.

The Prime Minister instructed all relevant government institutions, particularly the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, to intensify diplomatic efforts and mobilize greater international pressure to halt the escalating crimes committed by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people, especially home demolitions, forced displacement measures, and attacks carried out by colonial settler militias.

Earlier today, Israeli occupation forces launched a large-scale demolition operation targeting residential buildings inhabited by more than 100 citizens, in addition to commercial structures and storage facilities in the town of Eastern Barta’a, west of Jenin in the occupied northern West Bank. The operation was accompanied by a heavy military deployment throughout the area, while demolition notices affecting at least 120 additional structures have also been issued.

It is worth noting that this is the second demolition campaign carried out by Israeli occupation forces in Barta’a within a single week. Last Monday, occupation bulldozers demolished eight homes and additional structures in the same area as part of an ongoing demolition campaign targeting the town.
