TULKARM, June 10, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities on Wednesday issued a notice ordering the seizure of areas of land belonging to the villages of Shufa and Kafr al-Labad, east of Tulkarm, under the pretext of military purposes.

According to the notice received by the Shufa Village Council, the order provides for the seizure of 29.973 dunums located within Basin No. 2 in the areas of Shufa and Kafr al-Labad.

The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission told WAFA that Israeli forces had already seized the majority of these lands in 1977 under a military order, and that they have now seized additional land estimated at 217 square meters, bringing the total area seized to about 30 dunums.

The latest measure comes amid an escalation in Israeli policies aimed at appropriating additional Palestinian land across the Tulkarm governorate, particularly in its southern and eastern areas, fueling concerns that military orders are being employed to facilitate the expansion of colonial projects and related infrastructure at the expense of agricultural land and privately owned Palestinian property.
