Palestine women's national team defeats Malaysia 2–0 in friendly tournament

AMMAN, June 6, 2026 (WAFA) – The Palestine women's national football team secured a convincing 2–0 victory over the Malaysia women's national football team on Saturday at Petra Stadium in Amman, as part of a three-team women's friendly tournament.

Palestine controlled much of the first half and created several scoring opportunities. Narin Abu Asfar came close to opening the scoring from a direct free kick, while Nour Youssef threatened the Malaysian goal with a late effort that drifted just wide of the post.

The breakthrough came in the 60th minute when Florencia Sabat converted a corner kick delivered by Abu Asfar to put Palestine ahead. Just one minute later, Dalia Al-Ahmad doubled the lead after finishing a precise pass from Nour Youssef.

Malaysia attempted to respond with several attacks, but goalkeeper Charlotte Phillips produced a number of key saves to preserve the clean sheet until the final whistle.

Palestine will play its second match of the tournament against the Jordan women's national football team on Tuesday at King Abdullah II Stadium.
