RAMALLAH, June 2, 2026 (WAFA) – The French Republic has awarded the President of the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS), Younis Al-Khatib, the French National Order of Merit during a ceremony held at the headquarters of the society, in the presence of the French Consul General in Jerusalem, Nicolas Kassianides.

The French consul presented the order to Al-Khatib in recognition of his tireless efforts since assuming leadership of PRCS in 2000, ensuring the delivery of ambulance and emergency medical relief services across Palestine and to all people without exception.

The honor also reflects appreciation for the work carried out by the PRCS as a whole, including its staff and volunteers, who have continued to perform their duties under extremely difficult conditions, often at the expense of their personal safety, particularly in Gaza.
