RAMALLAH, May 25, 2026 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas sent a cable of condolences today to Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council of the Republic of Yemen, on the death of the second President of the Republic of Yemen, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi.

In his cable, President Abbas said, “We received the news of the passing of His Excellency Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, who led the country through a transitional period with competence and dedication.” On behalf of the State and people of Palestine, and in his own name, the President extended his deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to President Rashad al-Alimi, and through him to the government and brotherly people of Yemen, and to the family of the late President. He prayed to God Almighty to grant the deceased His abundant mercy and admit him to Paradise, and to preserve President al-Alimi, Yemen, and its brotherly people in peace, prosperity, and well-being."
