Colonists uproot over 40 olive trees near Salfit

SALFIT, May 24, 2026 (WAFA) – Colonists cut down more than 40 olive trees east of Salfit city on Sunday.

Local sources told WAFA that a number of settlers from the pastoral outpost established in the Wadi al-Sha’er area, located between Salfit city and the town of al-Lubban al-Sharqiya, cut down more than 40 olive trees belonging to Nash’at Shtayyeh, located near the al-Zaytouna University.

Shtayyeh said he is present on his land daily despite the repeated harassment he faces from colonists, including threats with weapons and stone-throwing.

He added that the olive trees cut down by the colonists were planted decades ago and constitute his only source of income, noting that the attack caused him significant losses and damaged his farmland.
