Israeli forces fire tear gas at Palestinian school northeast of Ramallah

RAMALLAH, May 21, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces fired on Thursday tear gas canisters at a school in the village of Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah.

Marzouq Abu Naim, deputy head of the Al-Mughayyir village council, said that occupation forces stormed the village and fired tear gas canisters at the Al-Mughayyir Boys' Secondary School. They also set up a checkpoint at the western entrance to the village, obstructing the movement of residents.

About a month ago, the child Aws Al-Na'san and the young man Jihad Abu Naim were killed during an attack carried out by  Israeli colonists on the same school. The village has been subjected to repeated violations as a result of the escalating attacks by the occupation and its colonists.

According to a report issued by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Israeli forces and colonists carried out a total of 1,637 attacks against the Palestinian people, their land, and their property during the month of April.

The report stated that Israeli forces were responsible for 1,097 attacks, while colonists carried out 540 attacks. The highest number of incidents was recorded in Nablus with 402 attacks, followed by Hebron with 340, Ramallah and al-Bireh with 312, and Bethlehem with 171.
