Occupation forces issue notices for demolition of homes, structures in Jerusalem’s Hizma

JERUSALEM, May 20, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli occupation forces issued notices on Wednesday for the demolition of several homes and structures in the town of Hizma, northeast of occupied Jerusalem, according to the Jerusalem Governorate.

It reported that occupation forces stormed the town and distributed demolition notices targeting residential homes and commercial structures at its entrance, under the pretext of construction without a permit.

The notices targeted 7 residential homes and 4 commercial structures, sparking anxiety among the residents over the potential execution of new demolitions in the coming period.

For months, the town of Hizma has been subjected to repeated incursions, raid and arrest campaigns, the closure of its entrances, and the conversion of homes into military outposts, alongside an escalation in demolition orders and notices against civilians’ structures.

Over the past few months, occupation forces had also issued notices to uproot olive trees and bulldoze lands in the town, as part of a policy aimed at restricting the residents and expanding colonies around occupied Jerusalem.
