HEBRON, May 20, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces installed on Wednesday an iron gate at the entrance to Hebron's Old City and a military tower on the roof of the old municipality building.
WAFA correspondent reported that Israeli troops set up a military tower on the roof of the old municipality building and an iron gate at the Old City entrance, known as "Ein al-Askar/Bab al-Baladiya al-Qadima" (Old Municipality Gate), adjacent to the Osama bin Munqidh School, which Israeli authorities had previously converted into a religious institute for training rabbis and renamed the settlement outpost “Beit Romano.”
The area serves as a main road connecting Hebron to the Old City and the Ibrahimi Mosque.
