RAMALLAH, May 20, 2026 (WAFA) – Palestinian Vice President Hussein al-Sheikh met on Wednesday with an official delegation from the German Foreign Ministry, headed by German State Minister Bernhard Koch, and including Germany's representative to Palestine, Anke Schlemm, to discuss the latest local and international developments.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed bilateral relations and ways to strengthen cooperation. Al-Sheikh expressed his gratitude for the German government's support for UNRWA.
The two sides also discussed the latest local, regional, and international developments, including the municipal elections, the eighth Fatah conference, and the decision taken during the Palestine Liberation Organization's Executive Committee meeting to hold general elections.
The meeting also addressed Israel's escalating measures and policies in the Gaza Strip, including preventing the entry of aid to the Palestinian people, the danger posed by colonist violence and incursions in the West Bank, the withholding of tax revenues, and other measures that threaten the collapse of the Palestinian Authority.
The meeting was also attended by Fatah Central Committee member Laila Ghannam and Presidential Advisor for Diplomatic Affairs Majdi al-Khalidi.
