Colonists abduct a Palestinian from Bedouin community near Jerusalem

JERUSALEM, May 19, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists on Tuesday evening abducted a Palestinian civilian from the Bedouin community of al-Maazi, east of Jaba’ town, northeast of Jerusalem, according to Al-Baydar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights.

The organization said that colonists broke into several dwellings in the community and abducted an inhabitant, spreading panic.

Colonists’ violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.

Colonists’ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.

Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists are living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law.
