RAMALLAH, May 17, 2026 (WAFA) – A Palestinian child was injured on Sunday evening by Israeli occupation forces’ gunfire in the town of Silwad, east of Ramallah, according to a local official.
Mayor of Silwad, Raed Hamed, told WAFA that a 14-year-old child was hit by live ammunition in the foot during confrontations with the occupation forces following a military raid into the Tel al-Asour area, east of the town.
He said that colonists attacked the Tel al-Asour area, east of the town, which led to confrontations with residents who fended off the attack, while occupation forces stormed the area at the same time as the colonists’ attack and opened fire toward residents, injuring a child who was later transferred to the hospital.
