Palestinian killed, others injured in Israeli airstrikes on Khan Younis and Gaza City

GAZA, May 17, 2026 (WAFA) – A Palestinian was killed and others were injured Sunday evening in Israeli airstrikes on Khan Younis and Gaza City.

WAFA correspondents said that Israeli warplanes bombed the Al-Mawasi area of ​​Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, resulting in the killing of one Palestinian and injuries to others.

In Gaza City, nine Palestinians were injured in an Israeli airstrike that targeted the vicinity of the Palestinian Broadcasting Corporation building in the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood, southwest of the city. They were transferred to Al-Quds Hospital, run by the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.

Medical sources in the Gaza Strip announced earlier today that the death toll from the Israeli offensive on the Strip has risen to 72,763, and 172,664 others were wounded since the start of the offensive on October 7, 2023. They noted that the total number of slain Palestinians since the ceasefire on October 11 has risen to 871, and the total number of injuries to 2,562, while 776 bodies have been recovered.
