JERUSALEM, May 16, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities on Saturday forced Palestinian citizen Omar Mohammad Halsa to demolish his own home in the town of Jabal al-Mukabber, southeast of occupied Jerusalem.
Local sources said the house had stood for nearly 20 years, covered an area of 60 square meters, and was home to Halsa, his wife, and their four children.
Israeli authorities in occupied Jerusalem regularly compel Palestinian citizens to carry out self-demolitions under the pretext of lacking building permits. Those who refuse face forced demolition by Israeli authorities and are charged heavy demolition costs.
