JERUSALEM, May 15, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces on Friday imposed tightened restrictions in the vicinity of Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied Jerusalem, coinciding with the storming of dozens of Israeli colonists into the Bab Al-Asbat (Lions’ Gate) area.

Local sources reported that Israeli forces closed Bab Al-Asbat to worshippers arriving for Friday prayers, and also shut King Faisal Gate, one of the entrances to Al-Aqsa Mosque, preventing entry through it.

The measures are part of ongoing restrictions aimed at limiting Muslim worshippers’ access to the mosque, amid repeated incursions by colonists into areas surrounding the holy site.
