HEBRON, May 15, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces on Friday completely closed Route 60 north of Hebron to secure a sporting event organized for a group of Israeli colonists.
According to WAFA correspondent, the closure extended from the so-called Al-Nafaq Checkpoint south of Jerusalem to the Kiryat Arba colony, built on Palestinian land east of Hebron.
The closure prevented Palestinians from traveling between Jerusalem, Bethlehem, and Hebron, in addition to restricting the movement of tens of thousands of residents from towns and villages in northern and northeastern Hebron.
In a related development, Israeli forces raided the village of al-Zuweidin, east of the town of Yatta, firing sound bombs and tear gas canisters. Soldiers also stormed and searched several homes, ransacking their contents. No detentions were reported.
