Colonists attack Beit Iksa village northwest of Jerusalem

JERUSALEM, May 14, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists attacked the village of Beit Iksa northwest of Jerusalem on Thursday, assaulting residents and causing one Palestinian to suffer suffocation and severe irritation after being sprayed with pepper gas.

Local sources said a group of colonists stormed the outskirts of the village and began provoking and attacking residents before spraying pepper gas at several people. One resident suffered breathing difficulties and burns to the face and eyes during the assault.

The sources added that the colonists carried out the attacks under the protection of Israeli forces stationed around the village, while local residents attempted to confront the attackers and prevent them from advancing toward agricultural lands and homes.

Beit Iksa has witnessed escalating colonists’ attacks in recent months, including assaults on farmers, preventing them from reaching their lands, and the establishment of colonial outposts and structures around the village.

The latest incident comes amid a rise in colonists’ violence across the occupied West Bank, with rights groups documenting hundreds of attacks in recent months, including pepper spray assaults, physical attacks, shootings, and preventing farmers from accessing their lands.
