Several Palestinian students suffer suffocation during Israeli military raid on school near Ramallah

RAMALLAH, May 7, 2026 (WAFA) –  Several Palestinian students suffered from tear gas inhalation after Israeli forces fired tear gas canisters toward the al-Mughayyir Boys School, east of Ramallah.

Local sources told WAFA that Israeli troops stormed the village and fired stun grenades and tear gas at the school while students were present, causing several suffocation cases among students.

The same sources added that Israeli soldiers also set up a military checkpoint at the village entrance and fired tear gas canisters at residents' homes.

The Al-Mughayyir Boys' School was previously attacked by extremist colonists on April 21, resulting in the killing of 14-year-old Aws Hamdi Na'san and 32-year-old Jihad Marzouq Abu Na'im, as well as three injuries from live ammunition.

According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Israeli forces and colonists carried out a total of 1,819 attacks in March, including1,322 attacks by Israeli forces and 497 by colonists.

The commission said the highest number of incidents was recorded in Hebron with 321 violations, followed by Nablus with 315, Ramallah and al-Bireh with 292, and Jerusalem with 203, highlighting what it described as systematic targeting of these areas.
