QALQILYA, May 6, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli forces uprooted centuries-old olive trees on Wednesday rom land belonging to the village of Asla, west of Azzun town, east of Qalqilya governorate, which lie behind the separation wall.
Asla village council head Suleiman Othman told WAFA that the targeted trees cover hundreds of dunams of village land and are hundreds of years old. He noted that farmers have been unable to access the land since October 2023 due to its location behind the barrier.
He added that this land is near the settlement of Alfei Menashe, which is built on land belonging to Azzun and Asla, and is owned by several families, including the Suleiman, Abu Radi, and Masoud families.
Othman said the uprooting of the trees is part of ongoing violations targeting agricultural land in the area.
