BETHLEHEM, May 5, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces, on Monday night, closed the main road in the town of Al-Khader, south of Bethlehem, according to local sources.

Sources told WAFA that the occupation forces blocked the main road linking the Al-Bawaba area and the Old Town, specifically in the Al-Tall area, using earth mounds.

The closure will hinder the movement of citizens in the Old Town and their access to the school complex and to the western countryside, which constitutes the only entrance to the towns of Battir and Nahalin and the villages of Husan and Wadi Fukin.

The occupation forces fired tear gas and sound bombs at citizens and vehicles during the closure; however, no injuries were reported.
