GAZA, April 28, 2026 (WAFA) – Medical sources in the Gaza Strip warned of the risk of the only oxygen plant operating in the Gaza and North Gaza governorates shutting down. This plant is the primary source of oxygen for patients, especially those with chronic illnesses, as well as for medical facilities.

The sources explained that the plant suffers from frequent breakdowns due to high pressure and long operating hours, coupled with a lack of sufficient alternatives. This threatens to cut off the supply of medical oxygen and puts patients' lives at serious risk.

They added that the continuation of this situation portends an imminent humanitarian catastrophe, given the increasing need for oxygen in hospitals and health centers.
