President Abbas extends condolences over death of Malian Defence Minister, condemns terrorism

RAMALLAH, April 27, 2026 (WAFA) – Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has extended his condolences to the President of the transitional phase and Head of State of the Republic of Mali, General Assimi Goïta, over the death of Minister of State, Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs, General Sadio Camara, following a terrorist attack that targeted his residence and resulted in civilian casualties.

In a cable of condolence sent to President Goïta, President Abbas expressed his deepest sympathies and condolences to the family of the deceased, the government and people of the friendly Republic of Mali, and the families of the civilian victims.

He added, "We condemn this cowardly terrorist act and affirm our full solidarity with the Republic of Mali in confronting terrorism. We stand with you during this painful time."
