BEIRUT, April 25, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli warplanes launched a series of airstrikes on several towns in southern Lebanon on Saturday evening, resulting in fatalities and injuries.
WAFA correspondent reported that the strikes targeted the towns of Safad al-Battikh, Kounine, Al-Jumayjmeh, Tebnine, and Beit Yahoun, killing two people and injuring others.
According to the Lebanese National News Agency, the strike on Safad al-Battikh resulted, in a preliminary toll, in two fatalities and 17 injuries, including women and children. The attack hit the town's entrance, cutting off the road between the town and the nearby village of Al-Jumayjmeh.
In addition, Israeli forces carried out a large explosion in the town of Al-Taybeh.
Earlier in the day, Lebanon's health authorities announced that the death toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression since March 2 has risen to 2,496, with 7,725 people injured.
