A total of 16 Palestinians killed by Israeli colonists in West Bank since start of year, Ministry says

RAMALLAH, April 23, 2026 (WAFA) – The Ministry of Health reported that 16 Palestinians have been killed by colonists’ gunfire in the West Bank since the beginning of the year, including victims as young as 13 and as old as 60.

On Wednesday, 25-year-old Awda Atef Awawdeh succumbed to his wounds after being shot by colonists during an attack on the town of Deir Dibwan, east of Ramallah.

On Tuesday, 14-year-old Aws Hamdi Naasan and 32-year-old Jihad Marzouq Abu Naim, both from the town of Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, were killed by settler gunfire. In a separate incident, 16-year-old Mohammad Majdi Al-Jaabari died after being run over by an Israeli colonist in Hebron.

According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Israeli forces and colonists carried out a total of 1,819 attacks in March alone, with 1,322 attacks perpetrated by Israeli forces and 497 by colonists.

The commission highlighted that the highest number of attacks occurred in Hebron with 321 attacks, followed by Nablus with 315, Ramallah and Al-Bireh 292 attacks, and Jerusalem with 203, in a clear indication of the intensity of the systematic targeting of these areas.
