Several injured in Israeli shelling targeting Beit Lahia northwest of Gaza City

GAZA, April 21, 2026 (WAFA) – Several civilians were injured on Tuesday evening in Israeli occupation shelling targeting the town of Beit Lahia, northwest of the Gaza Strip.

WAFA correspondent reported, citing local sources, that a number of citizens were injured in an Israeli shelling that targeted a group of people in the vicinity of Al-Atatra roundabout in Beit Lahia.

Medical sources said that hospitals in the Gaza Strip received, over the past 24 hours, seven fatalities and 21 injuries as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression.

They added that several victims remain under the rubble and scattered on the roads, as ambulance and rescue crews continue to face difficulties reaching them.

The sources noted that the toll of those killed and injured since the ceasefire went into effect on October 11 has reached 784 and 2,214, respectively. Sources noted that 761 bodies have also been recovered.

They further indicated that the death toll since the beginning of the aggression on October 7, 2023, has risen to 72,560, while the number of injuries has reached 172,317.
