Occupation forces give resident of town near Bethlehem 14 days to evacuate home before demolition

BETHLEHEM, April 21, 2026 (WAFA) – An Israeli occupation court issued a demolition order on Tuesday for a house in the town of al-Khader, south of Bethlehem, claiming it lacked a permit. The court gave the owner 14 days to evacuate the property.

The head of the al-Khader municipal council, Husni Issa, told WAFA that the court ordered the demolition of the two-story house belonging to Bashar Adnan Salah. Each floor is 250 square meters, built in a villa-style structure on a dunam of land in the Ard al-Deir area, west of the town. The court rejected an appeal to halt the demolition, which had been previously submitted.

Issa added that Israeli forces have escalated their attacks against residents in the Ard al-Deir area in recent months. These attacks have included the demolition of several inhabited and under-construction homes, as well as the issuance of demolition and stop-work orders to other homes.
