HEBRON, April 20, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces demolished a house in the town of Tarqumiya, northwest of Hebron, in the southern West Bank, on Monday.
A WAFA correspondent reported that occupation forces raided the Shaab al-Bir area of the town, accompanied by heavy machinery, and demolished a two-story house after emptying it of its contents. The house, which sheltered 10 people, belonged to Amir Bassam al-Jaafra.
It is worth noting that on December 22, 2025, the occupation forces notified residents of the Shaab al-Bir area in Tarqumiya of their intention to demolish six multi-story houses belonging to Anas and his brother Muhammad Mahmoud Fatafta, Abd al-Fattah Samir Abu Haltam, Muhammad Rasmi Abu Ra’iya, and Abd Musa Jaafra and his brother, despite their possession of ownership documents.
These homes are located several kilometers from the settlements of Telem and Adora, which were built on land belonging to residents of the town.
The town's residents appealed to international human rights and humanitarian organizations to intervene and put an end to the practices of the occupation and its settlers, who are working together to force residents to leave their homes and lands in order to seize them for settlement expansion.
