GAZA, April 19, 2026 (WAFA) – The death toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip has risen to 72,551, with 172,274 people injured since the start of the assault in October 2023, medical sources announced on Sunday.
Local health authorities said hospitals in Gaza received two fatalities over the past 24 hours, one of whom was recovered from under the rubble.
They added that the total number of Palestinians killed since the start of the ceasefire on October 11, 2025, has risen to 775, with 2,171 injuries recorded during the same period, while 761 bodies have been retrieved from under the rubble.
Meantime, a number of victims remain trapped under debris and in the streets, as emergency and rescue teams are still unable to reach them, according to the sources.
Hospitals also reported that 196 additional fatalities have been added to the cumulative death toll after verification and approval by the committee responsible for documenting casualties since the beginning of April.
