Red Cross facilitates transfer of six released detainees to Al-Aqsa Hospital in Gaza

GAZA, March 30, 2026 (WAFA) – The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) announced on Monday that it facilitated the transfer of six released detainees from the Kerem Abu Salem crossing to Al-Aqsa Hospital in Gaza, enabling them to communicate and reunite with their families.

In a statement, the Committee said it has been unable to access detainees held in Israeli detention centers since October 2023, and stressed the need to be informed of their fate and whereabouts, as well as to be granted access to them.

It emphasized that, under international humanitarian law, detainees must be treated humanely, provided with appropriate conditions of detention, and allowed to communicate with their families.

The Committee added that many Palestinian families are anxiously awaiting information about their detained relatives amid growing concerns over their health and safety, affirming that it will continue its dialogue with Israeli authorities to resume visits to all Palestinian detainees.
