JERUSALEM, March 30, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli bulldozers demolished on Monday a Palestinian home and surrounding walls in the al-Bustan neighborhood of Silwan, in occupied East Jerusalem.
The Jerusalem Governorate reported that Israeli forces, accompanied by bulldozers and military armored vehicles, stormed the al-Bustan neighborhood and al-Ain Street in Silwan, demolishing the home of Jerusalemite Fayez Ruwaidi, as well as walls surrounding the home of Jerusalemite Maher Sarhan.
During the demolition operation, Israeli forces reportedly intensified their security measures and deployed heavily in al-Ain Street and the al-Bustan neighborhood.
This demolition is part of Israel's ongoing policies to impose restrictions on Palestinian construction in occupied East Jerusalem and its surrounding areas, further worsening the housing crisis and limiting residents' ability to maintain and expand their homes.
According to the Jerusalem Governorate, during the past month of February, the occupation authorities carried out 49 demolition and razing operations in the governorate.
