JERUSALEM, March 29, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces continue to close the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied Jerusalem to worshippers for the 30th consecutive day, citing security concerns related to the Israeli-U.S. war on Iran.
Meantime, Israeli police have tightened military measures around the holy city and at the entrances to Palestinian towns and villages in the West Bank.
Simultaneously, extremist Israeli groups continue to incite incursions into Al-Aqsa during the upcoming Passover, calling for “sacrificial rituals” inside the mosque and demanding it be opened for Jews during the holiday period from April 2 to 9.
The Israeli occupation is using the state of emergency as a pretext to strengthen its control over Al-Aqsa, while Palestinian calls for popular mobilization near the nearest checkpoints and military barriers have intensified in an effort to break the siege and reopen the mosque.
