Ramallah, March 25, 2026 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) said that Israeli occupation forces detained at least 40 Palestinians from the West Bank, including Jerusalem, between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.
The PPS explained that among those detained were a journalist from Ramallah, a young woman from Hebron, and several recently released prisoners. The detentions took place in the governorates of Nablus, Hebron, Tubas, Tulkarm, Ramallah, and Qalqilya.
It noted that the occupation continues to escalate its detention and field interrogation operations at an accelerated pace since the beginning of this year, in an unprecedented manner since the start of the genocide, targeting various segments of Palestinian society as part of a campaign of collective punishment.
Meanwhile, the PPS emphasized that women are being systematically targeted through ongoing arrest campaigns, including being taken as hostages, subjected to night raids, and subjected to harsh interrogation methods. This constitutes a dangerous escalation in which the arrest of women is being used as a tool of pressure and collective punishment.
It is worth noting that the occupation authorities continue to carry out daily detention campaigns against citizens, which are among the most prominent and systematic policies, as the number of arrests in the West Bank has exceeded 22,000 cases since the start of the war of extermination.
