Israel re-detained about 100 former prisoners since Oct. 7, 2023: PPS

RAMALLAH, March 24, 2026 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) stated that the Israeli occupation continues to escalate its targeting of released prisoners who were freed as part of the ceasefire agreement on the Gaza Strip, through ongoing arrests, field interrogations, and questioning.

The PPS added that this escalation is part of a systematic policy and represents a clear and new violation of the ceasefire agreement, sending a message to the released prisoners that they will remain targets of harassment and persecution.

It said further stated that, according to daily documentation, the occupation has detained approximately 100 released prisoners since the 2003 war, some of whom have been arrested more than once.

The PPS pointed out that the occupation has strengthened its targeting of the released prisoners through military orders and laws that have provided wider cover for pursuing them, noting that the violations in the deals have reached the level of organized operations, including assaults by beating before their release, and continued after their release, in addition to threats that affected their families and are still ongoing to this day.
