Civilian injured by Israeli forces’ gunfire in northern Gaza

 

GAZA, March 23, 2026 (WAFA) – A civilian was injured on Monday by Israeli occupation forces’ gunfire inside Khalifa School in the Beit Lahia area, in the northern Gaza Strip.

In a related context, medical sources in the Gaza Strip reported that the number of those killed and injured since the start of the Israeli occupation’s aggression on the Strip on October 7, 2023, has risen to 72,263 and 171,944, respectively.

During the days of Eid al-Fitr, hospitals in the Gaza Strip received nine fatalities, including one who succumbed to critical injuries, in addition to 30 injuries.

Since the ceasefire went into effect on October 11, the total number of those killed has reached 687, with 1,845 injured, and 756 bodies recovered.

Many victims remain trapped under rubble or scattered on the streets, inaccessible to medical and civil defense teams.
