Israeli colonists attack Palestinian farmers and shepherds in Masafer Yatta

HEBRON, March 23, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists attacked on Monday Palestinian farmers and shepherds in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron.

Anti-settlement activist Osama Makhameh told WAFA that Muhammad Yahya Abu Aram, 35, and Elias Saeed Al-Amour suffered from suffocation and fainting after colonists sprayed them with pepper spray following an attack on shepherds and farmers in the western part of Al-Rakeez village in Masafer Yatta.

The causalities were reportedly transferred to Yatta Governmental Hospital for medical treatment. Colonists also unleashed their dogs on the villagers' livestock, injuring several animals.

Israeli occupation forces also detained Ibrahim Muhammad Makhameh from Huwara village in Masafer Yatta after colonists released their livestock near his home and into his crops.

In a related  context, colonists, under the protection of Israeli forces, attacked shepherds from the Alian Awad family in Khirbet Wadi Abu Shaban in Masafer Yatta, firing tear gas canisters at them. In Al-Mufaqara village, they attacked shepherds and attempted to steal livestock belonging to Fadel Al-Hamamdeh.
