NABLUS, March 22, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces intensified their military measures today, Sunday, around the city of Nablus by closing and tightening checkpoints, causing severe congestion and significantly restricting residents’ movement, according to local and security sources.
Sources told WAFA that the occupation forces closed most checkpoints surrounding the city, except for checkpoints 17 and Al-Murabba’a, which witnessed heavy traffic jams due to severe overcrowding.
Israeli forces also closed iron gates installed at the entrances of villages and towns in the governorate, isolating many communities and limiting movement between them.
These measures have directly impacted Palestinian citizens’ daily lives, with patients facing difficulties reaching hospitals and medical centers, while long traffic jams formed at the open checkpoints.
The tightening comes amid a daily rise in military measures across the West Bank, including sudden closures and checkpoint operations, further exacerbating residents’ hardships and restricting their daily movements.
