RAMALLAH, March 15, 2026 (WAFA) – Shaher Saad, Secretary General of the Palestinian General Federation of Trade Unions, strongly condemned the crime committed by Israeli occupation forces in the town of Tammoun against worker Ali Khaled Sayel Bani Odeh and his family members.
In a press statement on Sunday, Saad asserted that the incident constitutes a fully-fledged crime targeting an entire civilian family without any justification.
He explained that Bani Odeh, who worked in the construction sector inside the 1948 territories, had returned home and taken his family to Nablus to purchase supplies for Eid al-Fitr after a period of forced separation due to his work. However, the occupation forces ambushed the family during their journey, opening fire on their vehicle and killing four of the six family members.
Saad called on the International Labour Organization (ILO), the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC), the Building and Wood Workers’ International (BWI), and both international and Arab trade unions to expose these crimes and take meaningful action to hold Israel accountable for its violations against the Palestinian people, particularly workers, and to pursue those responsible in international forums.
