HEBRON, March 14, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces compelled several families to evacuate their homes in the Al-Namous neighborhood of Dura, south of Hebron, on Saturday, in preparation for demolishing the home of a Palestinian prisoner.
WAFA correspondent said that Israeli troops stormed the neighborhood with a large military einforcements and forced the family of prisoner Abu Hleil to evacuate their three-story home. The demolition is planned for the second-floor apartment, which houses ten members of the family.
Nearby homes surrounding the targeted building were also ordered to evacuate, forcing several families to leave their houses and remain outdoors.
Nader Abu Hleil told WAFA that Israeli troops severely beat his son, former detainee Mohammed, and forced him to destroy the contents of the house, throwing what remained out of the windows, as a part of new escalation that worsens the suffering of civilians in the area.
He added that around 20 homes near his own were also evacuated in preparation for the demolition of his apartment.
