JERUSALEM, March 13, 2026 (WAFA) – Muslim worshippers performed the fourth and final Friday prayer of Ramadan near the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem, as Israeli authorities continue to enforce a full closure of the holy site for the 14th consecutive day, citing the state of emergency during the ongoing war on Iran.
The Jerusalem Governorate said that hundreds of worshippers performed the Friday prayer at the closest accessible points to the mosque, including Bab Al-Sahira, the Bab Al-Amud (Damascus Gate) area, and Mohammad Al-Fateh Mosque.
Israeli forces were heavily deployed in the area, preventing worshippers from reaching Al-Aqsa Mosque and placing metal barriers to tighten the closure of roads leading to the holy site.
This marks the second consecutive Friday on which Muslims have been prevented from performing Friday and daily prayers at Al-Aqsa. It is also the first time since 1967 that the late-night Ramadan prayers have not been held in the courtyards of the mosque.
