BEIRUT, March 12, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli forces continued on Thursday to bombard various areas across Lebanon, resulting in the killing of dozens of people, injuries to others, and the destruction of numerous buildings and infrastructure.
Israeli warplanes carried out an airstrike on the seaside corniche in the Ramlet al-Baida area of the capital, Beirut, leaving 12 people killed and 28 others injured. Seven more people were reported killed in the town of Arkey.
Israeli forces also shelled a residential building in the Aramoun area in the Aalay district of Mount Lebanon, killing five people and injuring seven others, according to the Emergency Operations Center of the Ministry of Public Health.
Later in the evening, Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes on a residential building in the Bachoura area of central Beirut after issuing a warning for residents to evacuate. Another warning was issued for a residential building in the Zoqaq al-Blat area.
Airstrikes and drone attacks also targeted several locations in the Dahiyeh district of Beirut, while the Israeli army renewed evacuation threats for residents in the areas of Haret Hreik, Ghobeiry, Lailaki, Hadath, Burj al-Barajneh, Tahwitat al-Ghadir, and Chiyah.
Israeli warplanes also struck the Faculty of Sciences at the Lebanese University in the Hadath area, killing the faculty’s director Hussein Bazzi and professor Mortada Srour, who were present in the courtyard of the building.
Heavy displacement movements were reported in areas south of the Zahrani River following warnings issued by the Israeli army urging residents to move north.
Israeli airstrikes and artillery shelling also targeted the cities of Tyre and Nabatieh, as well as the towns of Frun, Maarakeh, Hanniyeh, Bint Jbeil, Taffahata, Deir Antar, Barish, Haris, Khiam, Qana, Ain Ebel, Burj Qalaouiyeh, Qaqaiyat al-Jisr, Deir Kifa, Adchit, Qleileh, Zibqin, Debbin, Aitaroun, Taybeh, and Kafra in southern Lebanon, and the towns of Qasarnaba, Douris, and Ain Bourday in the Bekaa in eastern Lebanon.
