BETHLEHEM, March 11, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces began bulldozing land in the town of Tuqu', southeast of Bethlehem, on Wednesday.
The head of the Tuqu' Municipal Council, Tayseer Abu Mufreh, told WAFA correspondent that the occupation forces began bulldozing land in the "Al-Arbidat" area to the north, as part of completing the colonial road that was recently constructed in the eastern part of the town. This road will connect to the road leading to the "Tekoa A" colony, which is built on Palestinian-owned land.
Abu Mufreh pointed out that this arbitrary measure will lead to the confiscation of thousands of dunams planted with olive trees, sever the town center from the surrounding countryside of Tuqu', and prevent residents from accessing their land in the eastern part of the town. He added that the road poses a significant risk to residents' lives, as it is located only meters away from their homes.
He appealed to humanitarian organizations and the international community to intervene to stop this arbitrary action, which would negatively affect the daily lives of citizens and threaten their presence in the region.
